The Village of Colyford

Yeoman’s Acre is situated in the centre of the pretty village of Colyford on the A3052 Lyme Regis to Exeter road, mid-way between Lyme Regis and Sidmouth.

The village has two traditional pubs serving food, The Wheelwright Inn and The White Hart. The first is just across the road, and the second less than five minutes walk from Yeoman’s Acre. There is also a village store, post office and butchers. A lovely river walk to nearby Colyton starts in the village.

Colyford is an ideal base for a touring holiday. It is only 1.5 miles from the sea at Seaton and overlooks the Axe Estuary. Within 10 miles are the seaside villages and towns of Lyme Regis, Beer, and Sidmouth. Read on for some of our local area highlights.

Colyford to Colyton river walk
Starting in the village, a gentle scenic walk along the river to Colyton where there are cafes, pubs and restaurants to stop for refreshments.

Axe Estuary Wetlands
Just minutes from Yeoman’s Acre are the Axe Estuary Wetlands (as featured on BBC’s Countryfile in 2013!). A great place for wildlife and bird watching enthusiasts, the area encompasses Seaton Marshes, Colyford Common and Black Hole Marsh.
